Week Long Festival of Kuta Carnival Launched

The release of doves and turtles marked the Kuta Karnival has been officially inaugurated and launched. Formally the grand opening was celebrated on Friday, September 24, 2004 taking the venue on Kuta's beachfront. This week long festival will run to October 03, 2004.

The Kuta Karnival offers a wide range of almost non-stop musical, cultural, sports and entertainment options to Bali residents and guests. This event might be one of the interesting tourist attraction, which is worth visiting.

Taking the theme of Tri Hita Karana, which is Balinese words literally means that Balinese committed to maintain the equilibrium between man and nature, man and man, and man and God. In addition, the theme is hoped to be able to meet the expectation of Balinese people even Indonesian generally, particularly on the effort to preserve the environment.

It is reported that the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, I Made Suparta told those attending the ceremony that the release of the doves is symbolized toward world peace and was in keeping with the Kuta Karnival's theme of Tri Hita Karana.

Through the return of the birds and turtles to their natural state of freedom the organizers hoped to increase the community's commitment to environmental preservation.
