Thousands of "Bali Loves Peace" T-shits on sale

DENPASAR (indo.com): Around 20,000 "Bali Loves Peace" will be printed, sponsored by the Balinese garment industry. Proceeds of the sales will be channeled firstly to local victims and families of the Bali bombings, as well as foreigners.

The T-shirts read "Bali Cinta Damai" on the front and "Bali Loves Peace" on the back, and will be worn by all supporters of the massive island-wide purification and cleansing ceremony to be held on November 15, 2002. Organised by Desa Adat Kuta (Kuta villagers) and Legian villagers (Desa Adat Legian), the ceremony will take place in front of Sari Club on Jl Legian, with numerous simultaneous events taking place around the island, mainly at Hindu temples.

A fund for the ceremony has been set up through the Rotary Club of Bali, directed by Treasurer Eric Kaler, who is also General Manager of Continental Airlines. Support is also coming from PHRI - The Hotel and Restaurant Association.

Thousands of people are expected to attend, including a large representation of the international and national press corps.
