The first CATO conference to be held in Bali

DENPASAR (indo.com): The Council of Australian Tour Operators (CATO) has finally chosen Bali as the host of its annual meeting. The conference will be held in the Nusa Dua complex area from August 6 to August 9, 2003. The meeting will be the first ever CATO conference held outside Sydney.

Sources said that despite the recent Bali bombing that shocked the world and tranished the image of the island, Bali has been selected as the venue for the upcoming conference because Bali is considered safe.

Several of the operators will sell holiday packages to Aussie public. The conference is expected to be attended by 60 members.

The council's top leaders were impressed with the situation Bali. In their recent visit to Bali, they conducted meeting with local hoteliers, government officials and police authorities.

The upcoming conference is widely viewed by the Indonesian travel community as a noteworthy vote-of-confidence by the Australian travel industry throughout Bali.
