|
Indonesian national motto is 'Bhineka Tunggal Ika' or Unity in Diversity. The country has one of the largest population in the world, almost 200 million people. Nationals of Indonesia are known as Indonesian (Orang Indonesia). The primary ethnic group is Javanese (45%) and Sundanese (14%). Official language spoken is Bahasa Indonesia and predominant religion is Muslim. English is spoken widely in tourism industry and international/high level business contex in large cities. Few useful Indonesian phrases that will come handy when dealing with Indonesian : |

To form a sentence in 'Bahasa Indonesia' is pretty easy. It uses the same grammatical structure as in English (S-V-O: Subject - Verb - Object). To indicate the time of one activity take place, simply use the related words : yesterday (kemarin), today (hari ini), next week (minggu depan), etc. No different format of tenses applied. |
