Bali will enlist Wali Dances to UNESCO

Bali government planned to enlist Wali dances or sacred dances to UNESCO.

The sacred Wali Dances is the dances that only performed in rituals in the innermost court of the temples. Bali government work in conjunction with Art Institute Denpasar (ISI Denpasar), and Ministry of Culture and tourism to categorize and recognize those sacred dances.

So far the ministry experts had identified some dances like Pendet, Topeng and Baris.
Bali’s government officer said that after completed identification and classification of those dances, the listing will be submitted to UNESCO.

It is expected that by enlist the cultural richness, there will be no other country or nations would claim the art and cultural.
