The online community travelmole.com reports that Garuda has announced it's increasing capacity from Sydney to Bali starting June 20th 2007. It also introduces a new Wednesday flight to fulfill the growing demand from the land down under.
Arrivals to Bali from Australia have increased by up to 50% in recent months in line with expanding overall international arrivals, which have risen by a similar proportion, and tens of thousands more visitors than the same time last year*.
Not only that Garuda also considering to reestablish flight operations from cities in Japan who dropped dramatically following the terrorist bombing incident in Bali.
Bisnis Bali quoted the Airline's manager in Bali, Uun Setiawan, as saying brisk demand from the Japanese market and improving arrival numbers have created a "strong potential" for the reopening of the Bali-Nagoya service.
Inbound tourism to Bali is rebounding strongly, with a record-high 472,000 foreign visitors for the first four months of 2007. Average daily room rates for Bali hotels have also increased over the same period to US$99 a night, up 12.5 per cent on 2006.
After a series of terrorist attack, Bali had suffered great loss due to decreasing of the tourists both domestic and foreign. “Island of Gods” which only had tourism as their field of operations, has slowly began to creep back as the island that posses highly valued traditional culture, art and amazing beaches.
