For the first time Bali is hosting an International Triathlon which takes place in Jimbaran Bay in June 24th 2007. This initial triathlon race will commends a 1,5 Km swim in the tepid water of Jimbaran Bay continue with 40 Km bike course along Nusa Dua area ended with a 10Km run through Jimbaran and Kedonganan Village with Four Seasons at Jimbaran as a finishing point.
The Olympic distant event is also compact with Balinese traditional spiritual act to bless the participant and bikes to prevent any demonic effect, to protect and balancing harmony for any evil might harm them before, during or after this unique destination race.
Sponsored by several parties such as Four Seasons Jimbaran, Triathlete Magazine, John Hardy (World Famous Jeweler) and many more; each participants is equipped with high quality t-shirt with patented dry-release fabric, swim cap, ticket to Pre-Race Dinner hosted by Four Seasons Jimbaran, access to post-race awards party and follow up lunch, and numerous opportunity to participate in discounted places and tours along with the athlete’s families through out Bali.
And the winners of Bali International Triathlon 2007 are Daniel Plews with finishing time 1:58:30, followed by Craig Johns (2:04:36) and Mark Batten from Australia (2:12:25). As for the overall female division winners are Kelley Toy from Singapore (2:25:23), Leah Mitsuko Brownell from Canada (2:36:30) and Robyn Stanley of Australia (2:46:38).
Bali International Triathlon also held a Relay Corporate Team and a 5K Run. Each of the competition brings Alberd Kamlasi as 1st place winner of 5K Run and Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel came first for Corporate Team. This race is also a great opportunity for all of the shareholders to perform an excellent service for Bali and the Balinese people are the words quoted from Four Seasons GM, John O’Sullivan who also participated in this glorifying competition.
