Bali’s tourism stakeholders are targeting 3 million foreign tourist arrivals for Bali in 2012, as the final count of tourist arrivals in 2011 totaled more than 2.7 million arrivals.
The stakeholders are confident that Bali will be able to increase the number by 10 percent this year, regardless of the gloomy situation of world’s economy.
Australian tourists maintain to be the main source of foreign visitors, amount to nearly 30% of all foreign arrival, when China is the next position with 9%; then Japanese tourists; due to economy difficulty and major earthquake and tsunami disaster in the middle of 2011 had dropped to 7%.
Bali’s stakeholders strongly believed that the gloomy economy situation in Europe and US will not affect Bali’s tourism industry much.
Bali still attracts and hosts major conferences and incentives destinations which become Bali’s strong points for marketing, though Bali needs more to be creative to attract more market potentials aside the existing markets.
