Penelokan "lookout" is the best place to enjoy the breathtaking views of Batur Lake between the huge backgrounds of the mountains of Abang and Batur.

Prepare yourself for the aggressive local souvenir sellers who range from children to mothers with babies.
They will enthusiastically sell their "products" through your car or bus windows and may even climb in your vehicle if you are not careful.

If you want to climb mount Batur, the best time is in the early morning so you can enjoy the sunrise from the top.
Any later in the day and it becomes to hot to walk.
