There are
still many villages in Bali which have not been touched
by modernisation as they are tucked away between valleys
and hills surrounded by miles of ricefields in tidy rows
and terraces.
The ricefields
are carefully tended by the villagers using traditional
techniques and simple tools handed down from generation
to generation.
Today you can still see the farmers tilling their fields
with their cows or water buffaloes.
Farming is still their only means of survival.
Jatiluwih village,
which is located in the north of the Tabanan Regency is
one such village.
It is said that the village possesses one of the most
beautiful natural surroundings on the island.
It is situated 850 metres above sea level and so the climate
is quite cool and the air very fresh.
Try to visit Jatiluwih
around lunchtime and spend some time overlooking this
view while you eat in the restaurant there.
