New Consulate opens in Bali to boost tourism

DENPASAR (indo.com): Thai Ambassador for Indonesia, Chaiyong Satiipanon has opened the Honorary Consulate Office of Thailand in the eastern boundary of Denpasar, Bali. The Consulate Office is located on Jalan Gatot Subroto Timur 330 X Denpasar.

The official opening was held to coincide with the handing over of the official duty letters from Chaiyong Satjipanon - Thai Ambassador for Indonesia, to Peraphon Prayooravong DVM MBA- the new Honorary Consul of Thailand for Indonesia, based in Bali. Other Thai's consulates are in Surabaya and Medan.

This consulate office aims to promote Thailand tourism in Indonesia while increasing the bilateral cooperation in various subjects, such as trade and agriculture between both countries of Thailand and Indonesia, a report said.

Satjipanon says that the office is set to represent the needs of Thai people in Bali, while also dedicated to the Indonesians wishing to apply for a visa to Thailand. "In addition, the newly opened office in Bali would play a significant role in anticipating the increasing numbers of Thai people visiting Bali, Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua," he said.
