Efforts to save baby turtles continue in Bali

DENPASAR (indo.com): Efforts are now underway to save newly hatched turtles on Kuta Beach following the death of around 30 newly born turtles in the area.

I Gusti Ngurah Tresna, chief of Kuta Beach Unit, said that with the recent finding that 30 of the 50 newly hatched baby turtles had died, efforts are now underway to save the rest.

He said that he planned to discuss the matter with the Natural Resources Conservation Board of Denpasar and the chief of Kuta Village. Over 100 eggs now buried under the sand on Kuta Beach are expected to hatch in the near future.

Around 59 baby turtles have already been handed over to the Bali Hai Hotel Kuta, an organization specializing in turtle preservation.
